Medical Disclaimer

Sift is not medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment recommendation. Talk to a doctor or pharmacist before starting, stopping, or combining anything.

Sift reads what you've entered and does two things: arithmetic (adding up doses against published upper limits) and lookups against a small set of citations we've hand-checked against primary sources — drug labels, government nutrition data, and published research. That's it. It doesn't diagnose, doesn't weigh your personal medical history, and doesn't replace a conversation with someone qualified to have it.

What "verified" and "unverified" mean

Every finding shows a confidence word. Verified means a human read the primary source and confirmed the finding matches it. Unverified means the citation is real but hasn't been cross-checked against a second independent source yet. Neither word means "safe" — they describe how carefully the citation has been checked, not whether the underlying interaction matters for you.

Absence of a finding is not a clearance

If Sift doesn't show a finding for something you've entered, that means we haven't curated data for that combination yet — not that it's been checked and found fine. The set of interactions, depletions, and dietary cautions in Sift is hand-built and growing, not exhaustive.

In an emergency

If you think you're having a medical emergency, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency room. Don't use this app, or wait on a response from it, in an emergency.

Privacy Policy

Sift has no user accounts, no server-side database, and no backend that your medications or supplements ever get sent to. Here's exactly what that means in practice:

Everything stays in your browser

What you type into the Name and Dose fields is saved only in your browser's local storage, on your own device. It's never transmitted to Sift, uploaded anywhere, or visible to anyone else — including us. Clear your browser data, switch devices, or open a private/incognito window, and your list won't be there, because it was never stored anywhere but that one browser.

No live lookups while you use the app

The interaction, depletion, dietary-caution, and dosage data you see is static — it was researched, verified against primary sources, and bundled into the site ahead of time. Using Sift doesn't trigger any live calls to a pharmacy database, a government API, or anywhere else. Nothing about what you've entered leaves your device.

No accounts, no tracking

There's nothing to sign up for. Sift doesn't use cookies, analytics, or any third-party tracking scripts. We don't know you were here, and we don't know what you entered.

If you scan a label

"Scan a Label" is an early preview of a planned feature. Right now it doesn't actually read the photo — selecting one drops a placeholder result into the Name and Dose fields for you to check and edit before adding anything. Either way, the photo itself is never uploaded or stored anywhere; nothing is added to your list without you pressing "+ Add."
